Be very careful when updating your BIOS! Download the version to which you want to update. In the attention of all Sager users!!! There is a method however that might allow you to flash a Sager BIOS over a Clevo one, but this method is very risky and should only be used if absolutely necessary.īIOS V 1.Joinsubscribers and get a daily digest of news, geek trivia, and our feature articles. Once this stage is complete, boot again from the CD. Navigate to the folder where you have your BIOS files. Once this stage is complete, boot again from the USB stick. If it does not, then give it some time, make sure the system has finished the flashing otherwise you will brick your laptop. Wait for the system to be flashed, it should reboot automatically once it is done. Type "dir" to see the folders you have on the USB stick. If all goes well you should now be in DOS mode. Now restart your laptop and boot from the USB stick. IF this is not possible then you can still download it from this thread. First you need to get the latest BIOS, generally you should do this by emailing your reseller for it. My opinion alongside that of other users which have posted in this thread is that a reputable notebook manufacturer like Clevo should make BIOS updates publically available. While the option to email your Clevo reseller and ask for the latest BIOS is considered now the official policy of obtaining the latest BIOSit should be noted that Clevo is the only major notebook manufacturer that has such a policy. Maybe because it can't detect bios files on flash drive due to my usb 3. Sager np clevo psma -black screen -no post -constant restart -recovery bios cmd makes fans go off and on with power led flashing. Removed everything and the only thing to keep it from restarting every 10 seconds is taking my cpu out. I've been researching and troubleshooting for over a week. And if it is a Windows issue then why do I sometimes get the same issue in the BIOS setup screen?Īny idea how to get the latest BIOS firmware for a Clevo P650RA? It seems this would be the easiest way to attempt to fix this. Could just be a coincidence and the fault was already present but I hadn't trigger it yet. This issue started when Windows updated to v1903 and the corrupt display started as Windows was at 79% of the update. The first 24 hours after I installed the new display it worked fine, I even played a game in 144fps and it was awesome. My graphics card is an Intel HD 530, and the display connector is an EDP 30 pin. The only other thing it could be is that either my internal graphics card cannot handle the 144Hz refresh rate, or the connector doesn't have enough bandwidth for 144Hz. My BIOS version is from 2015 so I think it's worth trying.

The seller of this display says that a BIOS update usually fixes this type of issue. If I set it back to 1080p60 then the fault clears in Windows straight away. If I reset the laptop and reboot into Windows then the display is fine from the BIOS startup and info screen and until the point it gets to the desktop at which point it then corrupts. It ends up looking like thisĪnd sometimes I get the same issue when trying to enter the BIOS setup.
